We work with law firms only — one firm per practice area, per market. 678-726-1512  ·  info@retainedcases.com
Retained Cases Legal Client Acquisition
About us

We picked one industry and went deep.

Retained Cases exists because the gap between a marketing agency and a working law practice is wider than either side likes to admit — and cases fall into it every day.

Why we exist

The report said the campaign worked. The firm hadn't signed anybody.

It's the most common story in legal marketing. An agency delivers impressions, clicks and cost-per-lead figures that all look healthy. The managing partner looks at the bank account and sees something different. Both are telling the truth. They're just measuring different things.

What sits between those two numbers is unglamorous: a phone ringing out at 5:40pm, a lead form that landed in a spam folder, an intake conversation handled by whoever was closest to the desk, a consult booked for a Tuesday that nobody confirmed. None of that is marketing. All of it decides whether marketing works.

We built Retained Cases to hold both ends. We run the campaigns and we answer the phone. We build the page and we follow up on the person who filled it in. When something breaks between those two things, there's no vendor to point at — it's ours.

How we operate

Five things we hold to

These aren't values on a wall. They're the reasons we turn work down.

  1. Fix the leak before opening the tap

If a firm's phones are going unanswered, we won't sell them ad spend first. It wastes their money and it makes us look bad four months later. Intake gets fixed, then traffic gets added.

  2. One firm per practice area, per market

We don't take two competing firms in the same city and the same practice area. You should never find out that the firm outbidding you shares your agency.

  3. Report the number that matters

Cost per lead flatters everyone. We report cost per signed retainer, and when it moves the wrong way we say so before you have to ask.

  4. Stay in our lane on anything legal

Nobody on our team gives legal advice, evaluates a matter, quotes a fee or clears a conflict. Those are attorney decisions. Our scripts are written so callers get routed, not answered.

  5. You own the assets

Ad accounts, domain, tracking, CRM data and call recordings are set up in your firm's name. If we part ways, you walk out with everything you paid to build.

Who you'll work with

A small team, and you'll know all of it by name.

Retained Cases is deliberately not a large agency. Law firms have been burned enough times by the model where a partner sells the engagement and an account coordinator three levels down actually runs it. Here, the people who build your campaigns are the people you talk to.

That does mean we take on a limited number of firms at a time. If we're full in your market or your practice area, we'll say so on the first call rather than stretch and underdeliver.

Our intake and paralegal personnel are trained specifically for legal work — on the vocabulary, on the sensitivity of what callers disclose, and on the hard boundaries around advice, fees and conflicts. That training is not optional and it's not something we improvise per client.

If you want to know who will actually be running your account, ask on the first call. We'll tell you, and you'll speak to them directly.
