Retained Cases Legal Client Acquisition
Client acquisition for law firms

Marketing that ends in a signature.

Most agencies hand a firm a report full of clicks and calls, then call it a win. We work the whole distance — the ad that earns the call, the person who answers it, and the follow-up that turns it into a signed retainer.

The gap nobody bills for

A lead is not a client. The distance between them is where firms lose money.

By the time a case is signed, it has survived a search, a click, a landing page, a phone call, a qualification, a scheduled consult, a no-show risk, and a follow-up sequence.

Break any one of those and the spend above it is wasted. Yet most agency relationships stop at the click — the firm is left holding the phone, the intake, the follow-up, and the blame when the numbers don't work.

We built Retained Cases to own the full chain. Same team runs the ads, builds the page, answers the phone, qualifies the caller, books the consult, and chases the ones who go quiet. One accountable party, one number that matters.

What we handle

Eight services, arranged around one outcome

Take the whole chain or take the piece you're missing. Each one is built for how law firms actually run.

Acquisition

Local Services Ads

The Google Screened placement that sits above every paid and organic result. Pay per lead, not per click — but only if the profile, budget pacing and dispute process are managed properly.

  • Google Screened application and license verification support
  • Profile build, service areas and practice-area targeting
  • Weekly lead disputes on unqualified and spam calls
  • Bid and budget pacing against your cost per signed case
Acquisition

Google Search Ads

Paid search on the terms that signal a person is ready to hire, not researching a topic. Built around case value, not keyword volume.

  • Intent-tiered keyword structure by case type and value
  • Negative keyword discipline against job seekers and DIY traffic
  • Call tracking with conversion imported back into Google
  • Geo, schedule and device bidding tuned to when calls convert
Acquisition

Meta Ads

Facebook and Instagram for demand you can create rather than wait for — mass tort, class action, and practice areas where nobody is searching yet.

  • Creative testing built for legal compliance review
  • Lead forms with qualifying questions built in
  • Retargeting for site visitors who didn't call
  • Instant follow-up so leads are worked in minutes, not days
Acquisition

Search Engine Optimization

The compounding channel. Local map pack, practice-area pages, and the technical work that keeps a firm site from quietly falling out of the index.

  • Google Business Profile optimization and review generation
  • Practice-area and city page architecture
  • Attorney-reviewed content that survives scrutiny
  • Citation cleanup, technical audits and link acquisition
Conversion

Websites & Landing Pages

Firm sites and campaign pages designed for one job: getting a qualified visitor to pick up the phone. Built for attorneys, not adapted from a generic template.

  • Practice-area pages structured around case type and jurisdiction
  • Fast, mobile-first, accessible builds
  • Click-to-call, chat and form paths on every screen
  • Attorney bios, results and credentials presented credibly
ConversionWhere we start

Intake & Call Handling

Trained people answering your phone, qualifying the caller, and putting the consult on your calendar. The single highest-leverage fix in most firms — and the reason marketing budgets underperform.

  • Live answering, overflow and after-hours coverage
  • Qualification against your case criteria, not a generic script
  • Appointment setting straight into your calendar
  • Structured follow-up on every lead that goes quiet
  • Conflict-check questions and confidentiality protocols routed to your team
Operations

CRM & Automation

The system underneath everything else. Every lead captured, every follow-up fired, and a pipeline that shows you where cases actually stall.

  • CRM build and pipeline stages matched to your intake process
  • Automated text, email and voicemail follow-up sequences
  • Missed-call text-back and speed-to-lead automation
  • Reporting from ad spend through to signed retainer
Capacity

Paralegal Support

Trained support staff working under your attorneys' supervision and direction — so a sudden increase in signed cases doesn't become a service problem.

  • Client onboarding, file setup and records requests
  • Document preparation and organization for attorney review
  • Case status updates and client communication support
  • Calendar, deadline and follow-up tracking
How an engagement runs

We look before we spend.

Every firm we take on starts with a review of what's already happening — the ad accounts, the site, and above all the phone. It's free, it takes about forty minutes, and it's the only way to know whether the problem is traffic or what happens after it.

  1. Firm review

We go through your current spend, your intake, your close rate and your case economics. You get the findings whether or not you hire us.

  2. Case economics

Average case value, current cost per signed file, and the realistic ceiling on what a case is worth acquiring. Every later decision is anchored here.

  3. Fix the leak first

If calls are going unanswered or leads aren't being followed up, we address that before adding spend. Pouring traffic into a broken intake wastes your money and our reputation.

  4. Build and launch

Tracking, pages, campaigns and intake scripts go live together, so we can attribute a signed case back to the channel that produced it.

  5. Report in retainers

Monthly reporting reads in signed cases and cost per signed case. Impressions and clicks are in there, but they're not the scoreboard.

Why firms move to us

Built for one industry, and it shows in the details

Focus

Law firms only

We don't run campaigns for dentists and restaurants on the side. Every script, page and bidding decision comes from work done inside legal.

Coverage

Marketing and intake together

Most agencies stop at the click and most answering services know nothing about your ad spend. We do both, which is why nothing falls between them.

Boundaries

We know what we're not

Our team never gives legal advice, quotes fees, or evaluates the merits of a matter. Conflict checks and anything touching privilege route straight to your attorneys.

Measurement

Reported in signed cases

Cost per lead is easy to flatter. We report cost per signed retainer, because that's the only number that shows up in your bank account.

Exclusivity

One firm per market

We won't take your competitor down the street in the same practice area. You shouldn't be bidding against a client of your own agency.

Access

You own everything

Ad accounts, domain, tracking, CRM and call recordings stay in your name. If we ever part ways, you keep the asset you paid to build.

Before you call

Questions we get from managing partners

If yours isn't here, ask it on the review call — we'd rather answer it than have you guess.

Do you work with firms outside personal injury?
Yes. PI is the loudest corner of legal marketing, but we work across criminal defense, family, immigration, estate planning, employment, bankruptcy and workers' compensation. The economics differ by practice area, which is exactly why we model case value before proposing a budget.
Can we hire you for intake only?
Yes, and a fair number of firms start there. If your phones are being missed or leads sit unworked for a day, intake will return more than another dollar of ad spend will. We're happy to run intake against marketing someone else is managing.
What does your intake team do about conflict checks?
They collect the identifying information your firm asks for and route it to your team. They do not run the check, clear a matter, or tell a caller whether your firm can represent them. Anything touching conflicts, privilege or the merits of a matter goes to your attorneys.
Will your team ever give legal advice to a caller?
No. Our intake staff qualify, schedule and follow up. They don't advise on the law, predict outcomes, quote fees, or discuss the strength of a case. Those boundaries are written into the scripts and monitored on recorded calls.
How quickly does this start working?
Paid channels can produce calls within days of launch. Intake improvements often show up in the first week, because they act on demand you already have. SEO is a six-to-twelve-month build. We'll tell you honestly which of those your situation calls for rather than selling you the slowest one.
Do you guarantee a number of cases?
No, and we'd be cautious of anyone who does. Case volume depends on market, practice area, budget, your close rate and factors outside anyone's control. What we commit to is the work, the reporting, and telling you early when something isn't performing.
Who owns the accounts and the data?
You do. Ad accounts, domain, analytics, CRM records and call recordings are set up in your firm's name from day one. We work inside your assets rather than renting them back to you.
